This, imho, is the most limiting for the game in drawing in new players, however, this is excused by its alpha state. Which is nice since the previous / current way was lacking.ДЄs a result of the rapid development there's a huge lack of tutorials and content out there that can actually teach you to play. ATM the method in which opposing ships detect and determine firing solutions on each other is undergoing massive redevelopment. It is still alpha though so it is under constant development and new systems are still being added. It is also one of those rare games in which if something does not work it is probably your fault, either your design is wrong, or your understanding about how something works is wrong, rather than a bug or a failure in the game design. However, in this game complexity is one of the design goals and the purpose of the complexity is to provide you with multiple ways to do the same thing. Complexity in many games is a result of poor design, documentation, interface, etc. It's one of those rare games where its complexity is actually fun. From the satisfaction of building a ship to watching your missile blow an enemy airship out of the sky, this game is great. Overall, From the Depths is one of the most satisfying games I have ever played. Some of the ships people have built in the workshop are insane. I feel like this game has gone a bit unnoticed, and could use some more people playing it. Again, the learning curve is harsh, but the tutorials help, as does the in-game descriptions of items. This game is about the learning, and the learning is oh-so satisfying. But that first time you get a CRAM cannon firing on your ship without it flipping over, completely wiping out the first wave of enemy ships that have been sent at you, it makes it all worthwhile.

You will flip your ship several times before you learn how to get it working. I will warn you, straight up, the learning curve for this game is from hell. At first, when I first got this game, I really thought it was just going to be another voxel early access game, but its something entirely different. 'From the Depths' is a voxel-based game where you build ships, captain them, and your goal is to take over the game map, at least in campaign mode.
